 Colchagua Valley
Located in Colchagua, a sub valley of Rapel, Viña Montgras’ vineyards are planted 192km west of Santiago and are naturally protected by the coastal range to the west and the Andes Mountain range to the east. With a considerable amount of investment over the past 10 years and new winemaker Sven Bruchfeld - formerly of Errazuriz – at the helm the wines of Montgras grow from strength to strength. Montgras have also spotted the outstanding potential of the Leyda Valley by investing in an unplanted property in this region. The De Gras range of wines that we stock are used primarily for the restaurant trade in the UK, so this is the most likely place you will spot them, other than on this site! The range is comprehensive and consumer friendly with merit particularly placed on the reserva and Ninquen range of wines. |

| Grapes for the De Gras Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested in bunches before being brought to the winery in perfect condition where they are crushed into steel tanks with the skins. Maceration is for 2 weeks during fermentation and the wine undergoes a period of ageing in vat before bottling and release. | The De Gras Merlot from Vina Montgras is a complex fruit driven style of wine. Deep red in colour the wine displays a typical varietal nose of ripe plums with fresh mint notes. On the palate the Merlot is mouth filling, with evidence of ripe raspberries and blackcurrants leading to a finish with good depth and soft tannins, a distinctly Chilean style.
