Gordon & MacPhail Imeprial 1991 40% Speyside Malt

Gordon & MacPhail Imeprial 1991 40% Speyside Malt
Bin No. IMPERIAL91
Price: £28.95
Speyside is a region noted for producing elegant and subtle whiskies. The Gordon and MacPhail Speyside Imperial 1991, bottled in 2004 is a 13 year old malt whisky from Carron in the Speyside region of Scotland. Founded in 1897, the distillery name was no doubt influenced by the fact that it was built at the time of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Imperial has spent a large part of the last century closed. After opening in 1898 it closed a year later for over 20 years and when production did recommence in 1919 it was only for 6 years! It was purchased in 1989 by Allied Distillers who, after some work, reopened the distillery in 1991 yet it was ‘mothballed’ in 1998.
