The Gordon & Macphail ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ range of malt whiskies is a brand of unusual single malt whiskies, distinguished by their labels, which indicate the region from which they come.
The Connoisseurs Choice Teaninich 1991 46% abv (pronounced Te-an-in-ich), is a 13 year old malt whisky from the northern highlands region of Scotland. Founded in 1817 Teaninich was the first Scottish Distillery north of Inverness to be fitted with electricity and one of the first to have telephonic communication between the proprietor’s residence and the quarters of the Excise Officers. The distillery closed in 1985 but has since reopened. At the height of its production the distillery produced 1,750,000 gallons a year.
