Grapes for the J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay are all harvested from the Greenfield vineyards in Monterey.
Once at the winery the grapes undergo barrel fermentation in a combination of French and American oak; 40% underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine is then racked and aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak, of 1, 2 and 3 years of age.
The resulting Riverstone Chardonnay is medium straw in colour displaying delicate aromas of citrus, nectarine and peach, with a bouquet of butterscotch, toasted oak, vanilla and butter. The fully ripened fruit and malolactic fermentation provide a luscious texture with white stone fruit, lime and buttery flavours balanced with vanilla and toasty oak.
