The Castello di Fonterutoli Chianti Classico is Fonterutoli's flagship wine and it is the most representative of the estate's production.
Grapes for this Chianti Classico are all sourced from the Siepi vineyard 260 metres above sea level, with a south westerly exposure. The blend for this red wine is 90% Sangiovese grapes and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon with all the grapes being hand harvested. Having spent 18 months in French oak barrels the wine is left to mature for a further 6 months in bottle before release.
The final Chianti Classico is an intense wine with an extraordinary combination of power and elegance that shows off the true potential for the Sangiovese grape.
