Umani Ronchi Cumaro Rosso Conero 2006 - Marche, Italy

Umani Ronchi Cumaro Rosso Conero 2006 - Marche, Italy
Bin No. CUMARO06
Price: £19.50
Cumaro is the Greek name for Mount Conero, where soil and a maritime microclimate marry together to form an ideal grape growing terroir.

This world renowned red wine is one of Umani Ronchi's icons and a fantastic example of what can be achieved with the Montepulciano grape.

The best Montepulciano grapes of the 'San Lorenzo' vineyard in Sbrozzola, Osimo are selected for the production of Cumaro.

Alcoholic fermentation on the skins takes place for 10/12 days at 27°C, followed by malolactic fermentation at controlled temperature. The wine is then matured for 16 months in Allier and Tronçais oak barriques and then bottle aged in a temperature-controlled room for at least a further 7 months.

The final wine is ruby red in colour with an intense bouquet. On the palate Cumaro is full and flavoursome with hints of wild cherry and fruits of the forest. The finish is refined and long lasting.
