King Billi Billi was a well respected Aboriginal chief, and occasional sheep rustler, whom the creek adjacent to Mount Langi Ghiran is named after.
The 2005 Billi Billi Shiraz is made from grower’s fruit, specifically old bush vines up to 60 years in age. The focus of this wine is on fruit intensity over age ability and complexity; therefore the Billi Billi Shiraz is produced with the drinker in mind.
The 2005 Mount Langi Ghiran Billi Billi Shiraz is dark red in colour displaying plum, blackberry and classic peppery characteristics on the nose. On the palate, this red wine has fine tannins supported by bright berry fruit flavours and delicate spicy characters. This is a fruity Shiraz ready to drink now, but will cellar for up to 8 years and represents great value for money; having hints of the fabled Mount Langi Ghiran Shiraz style, Billi Billi is an excellent introduction to the Mount Langi Ghiran range of wines.
