The Planeta Cometa is a white wine made from 100% Fiano grapes; this is an indigenous local white grape variety that is now starting to receive worldwide acclaim and many Italian wine specialists believe it will have as great an impact on the wine-buying public as Pinot Grigio has done in the past few years.

Once at the Planeta winery the Fiano grapes are crushed and de-stemmed and the juice is then clarified through settling overnight. It is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, where it is kept on its lees for five months before light fining and bottling.

The final Planeta Cometa wine is deep straw yellow in colour with a green hue. On the nose the wine is intense and full of character, with integrated aromatic notes of citrus and tropical fruit. On the palate it has plenty of character with elegant mineral elements. The acidity is well integrated with the fruit, making for a harmonious whole which is without a doubt one of the finest examples of this variety to be found anywhere.

The Planeta Cometa was awarded a Tre Bicchieri in the last edition of the Gambero Rosso.
