The 2005 Xisto is a fine red wine made from a blend of: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Francesa grape varieties; and it combines the unique spicy character of the Douro with all the finesse you may expect of a Cru Classé Bordeaux.
The wine has a very deep (almost opaque) red colour and a nose of violets, cassis and black cherries. On the palate the Xisto is remarkably elegant with a classic balance of fine ripe tannins and intense mouth filling fruit. Although delicious now, this fine red wine will age well for the next 10 to 15 years.
