Mélanie Pfister is the eighth generation of her family to work at the family domaine in Dahlenheim. She started there after finishing her studies and work experience, which included vintages with producers like Craggy Range in New Zealand and Zind-Humbrecht and Meo-Camuzet in France.

Domaine Pfister is an estate with 10 hectares of vineyard spread across 40 different parcels, primarily in Dahlenheim, in the northern part of Alsace, about 20km west of Strasbourg. The vineyards are planted with around 26% Riesling, 24% Gewurztraminer and 18% Pinot Gris.

It is hard to find an Alsatian producer who makes wines that are as dry, crisp and pure as the Pfister wines. The family are particularly proud of their Crémant d'Alsace, made from equal portions of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. It is aged for two years on its lees, and displays the lovely bready character of this style of fizz.
