The grapes for this wine were all harvested from the Greenfield vineyards in Monterey. The wine was 100% barrel fermented in a combination of French and American oak, 40% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine was then racked and aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak, of 1, 2 and 3 years of age.
The resulting chardonnay is medium straw in colour displaying delicate aromas of citrus, nectarine and peach, with a bouquet of butterscotch, toasted oak, vanilla and butter. The fully ripened fruit and malolactic fermentation provide a luscious texture with white stone fruit, lime and buttery flavours balanced with vanilla and toasty oak.
Drink on its own as a wonderfully complex and lively aperitif or as a great accompaniment to seafood, particularly lobster and shrimps or to any white meat dish.
