Mitolo Wines is a family owned business founded in 1999 (2000 was the first vintage) and is led by the founder and owner Frank Mitolo together with his winemaking partner Ben Glaetzer.

Utilising vineyards situated in the most southern tip of the McLaren Vale region at Willunga, it was Frank's vision to create a range of wines that had great individuality, integrity and were of the utmost quality.

Consequently, whether it is in the vineyard, or in the winery, each wine produced at Mitolo is nurtured and developed with a passion that spares no effort or investment to ensure that the best of everything is brought together to make wines of purity, elegance and power.

Acclaimed winemaker, Ben Glaetzer is obsessed with quality and feels that one of the key factors in the soft, supple fruit that characterises the Mitolo wines is the fact that they pick the grapes on flavour, as this gives the ripe tannins he is looking for. These ripe tannins allied to a vibrant fruit are the key characteristics of the Mitolo wines.

With Ben Glaetzers' winemaking skills and Frank's initiative, ambition and shrewd business sense Mitolo has swiftly achieved international recognition gaining listings on the finest shelves and in some of the best restaurants, bars and hotels across more than 20 countries leading to a demand that often outstrips supply.
