Vincent and Philippe Lécheneaut inherited their 12 hectare estate in Nuits-St-Georges from their father Fernand. Despite receiving numerous plaudits, including glowing comments from the influential American Robert Parker, the brothers have no desire to expand the domaine; preferring to concentrate on their current holding.

Vineyard practises are traditional and meticulous, as is vinification. After barrique-ageing for around 18 months (in 60% new wood) the wines are bottled without filtration or fining. The results are superbly crafted wines, concentrated yet forward and elegant with well-integrated oak.

The vineyard for this wine lies at an altitude of 250m above sea level southwest of the town Nuits St Georges. The harvest, carried out entirely by hand, is brought to the winery in small plastic boxes where each bunch undergoes a thorough selection process.
