The Domaine Saumaize - Michelin is located in the village of Vergisson, 12km to the South of Mâcon. The domaine was taken on by Roger Saumaize in 1978 and since 1982 he has been helped in his labours by his wife Christine (née Michelin), hence the name of the domaine.

Roger and Christine own approximately 1.5 hectares in Pouilly Fuissé and rent another 3.5 hectares; they also own vineyards in both Saint Véran and Mâcon, all of which are meticulously tended to by hand.

Attention to detail is the key to this domains success and you are unlikely to see better kept vineyards or a tidier cellar anywhere in France! The Pouilly Fuissé 'Ampelopsis' is the estate's flagship wine and was listed amongst the top 10 white wines of France by the highly influential 'Revue du Vin de France'. It is reminiscent of a Grand Cru White Burgundy from the Côte d'Or.
