Le Clos de los Siete

Le Clos de los SieteTunuyan

In 1998, the oenologist Michel Rolland and Jean-Michel Arcaute (wine-grower, recently deceased) decided to go into business. Argentina offers space, the possibility to plant without restriction with the potential to produce a quality wine from fine soil at an excellent price.
Their arguments were strong enough to unite seven investors, all wine-growers (Catherine Péré-Vergé, owner of Château Monviel at Pomerol; Laurent Dassaut, owner at Saint-Emilion; Bertrand Otto, representative of La Compagnie Vinicole E. Rotschild; and Bertrand Cuvelier) to a remarkable viniculture project in the province of Mendoza. It would be at Vistaflores, an estate covering 847 hectares of vineyards, in the commune of Tunuyan, located 80km south of the city of Mendoza. Divided into seven Bodegas, the group was named Le Clos de los Siete (Vineyard of the Seven).
Clos de los Siete represents the cutting edge of forward thinking Old World producers in the New World.

But the great particularity of the Clos de los Siete is the process of winemaking using gravity. From pressing to bottling, and including the pouring of wine from vats to aging barrels, the ..

Trinity Hill

Hawke's Bay

Nestled at the foot of the three crested 'Roy's Hill', nine miles south west of Hastings in Hawke's Bay is Trinity Hill.

The winery is a partnership between John Hancock, Robert and Robyn Wilson (owners of London's Bleeding Heart and The Don restaurants) and Aucklanders Trevor and Hanne Janes; three founding families hence the name "Trinity Hill".
