Montgras Antu Ninquen Syrah 2004

Montgras Antu Ninquen Syrah 2004
Bin No. VMANSY04
Price: £11.00
Ninquén (nin-ken) means “plateau on a mountain”, the name given to this first and unique Mountain Estate in Chile. Antu means "Son of" and is the name given to this exciting mono-varietal range of new wines which offer the pure expression of the grape coupled with the terroir of the Ninquén estate. The fruit is carefully selected and handpicked exclusively from the Ninquén Mountain, located in the heart of the Colchagua Valley before an extended maceration period during fermentation and aging in barrique. The Antu Ninquén Syrah is deep inky purple in colour displaying aromas of ripe black fruits and smoky oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and concentrated with bags of spicy blackberry fruit and toasty vanilla oak. On the finish the wine is soft, supple and rounded and an ideal partner to rich meat dishes or mature cheese.

The name Dog Point is derived from the scrub covered hill, overlooking the Wairau Plains, designated by the early European settlers as a place where shepherds’ dogs who had got lost, or wandered off, took refuge. They
