Domaine Chante Cigale

Châteauneuf-du-Pape The Chante Cigale domaine is situated on the left bank of the southern Rhône, between Orange and Sourgues, on a variety of soils which contain a high proportion of 'galets'. These are the large stones of Châteauneuf-du-Pape which heat up during the day, and release their heat at night, allowing the grapes to attain maximum ripeness. The wine-making at Domaine Chante Cigale continues to impress and the wines are now attracting rave reviews from the likes of Robert Parker. The wine-making has been taken over by the young and energetic Alexandre Favier who has a deft touch at blending his wines. The white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the best of it's type and offers a great alternative to the ubiquitos Chardonnay. All round good wines and great value.
