Stellenbosch The TOKARA property was acquired by GT and Anne-Marie Ferreira in 1994 and is situated on the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The property consists of various sections of older estate’s, each with its own fascinating history - the oldest part of the estate situated on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain was once part of the first established farms in South Africa with records dating back to 1685. The last 9 years has seen extensive development in the vineyards and olive groves, with the creation of an award winning, super premium winery and barrel cellar, but not a single bottle of TOKARA wine has been released…. until now. It has taken until early 2005 before GT, along with winemaker Miles Mossop, believed that the age of the vines and the quality of the estate grown fruit were of a sufficiently high enough standard to launch the TOKARA range, something that the world has been anticipating for the last few years. 	Tokara Chardonnay 2004 Bin No. TOKARACHA Price: £15.75 The grapes for this chardonnay originated from the TOKARA farm and were hand picked at optimal ripeness from the 11th February to the 13th March. The grapes were treated in various ways - either whole bunch pressed, de-stemmed, crushed and pressed, with or without maceration depending on the quality of the fruit. 	Tokara Red 2003 Bin No. TOKARARED Price: £23.00 The grapes for this wine originated from TOKARA’s premium vineyards on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. The grapes were picked at optimal ripeness from the 7th March to the 10th April, destemmed, then passed across a sorting table for the removal of all unwanted material and then crushed directly into tanks for fermentation without the use of pumps. 	Tokara White Oak Aged Sauvignon Blanc 2005 Bin No. TOKARASB05 Price: £18.00 The grapes for the Tokara Sauvignon Blanc originated from the Tokara Farm and were all hand picked.
