Amancaya is a blend based on the elegant texture of Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) enhanced by the fruit of the indigenous Argentinean Malbec(55%).
The conditions in spring and beginning of summer were excellent for the 2004 vintage. The weather in late summer was very hot and dry, with a strong ‘Sonda’ wind blowing from the Andes, which arrested the ripening process on certain plots of Cabernet Sauvignon at lower altitude. The Malbec and the Cabernet Sauvignons located at high altitude were unaffected.
Intense purple-red colour. Good fruit, with aromas of ripe red cherries and wild strawberries, underpinned by notes of smoky vanilla from the oak. On the palate, good concentration, fresh but full. Balanced and very attractive with tannins of great quality.
