The 2004 vintage of Miss Harry is, as always, sourced from predominantly 80+ year-old, dry-grown bush vines in the heart of the Barossa Valley.
The warm and dry 2004 vintage brought outstanding concentration to the traditional varieties of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre.
These varieties were picked at optimum maturity, fermented separately on their skins before finishing fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation in old French barriques then matured in these same barrels for about 10 months without racking. Almost equal portions of Grenache and Shiraz were blended together with Mourvèdre making up the balance, the final blend being 44% Grenache, 43 % Shiraz and 13 % Mourvèdre.
The resulting wine is bright red in colour with aromas of summer berry fruits. On the palate it is concentrated with flavours of rich red berry fruits that lead’s on to an extremely long finish. The 2004 Miss Harry continues the success of this well-made, fruit-concentrated red wine that has a very approachable style which will satisfy many a discerning wine-drinker.
