Japan

Japan

More than 1,000 years ago, the fabled silk roads formed a pulsing trade artery for the exchange of goods and ideas between east and west. The legacy of those days can still be felt in Japan's 'Yamanashi' prefecture, where the Koshu grape variety is thought to have been imported from far-off Syria.

Over the centuries, grape and landscape have combined to create a unique style that epitomises food-friendliness: aromatic, fresh and pitched in stylistic terms somewhere between Alsace, England and New Zealand.
