France - Bordeaux

Blessed with an almost-perfect viticultural situation on the west coast of France, Bordeaux is probably the most well-known wine region in France and famous the world over for its enviable château-based classification system. There are approximately 7,000 chateaux spread over an area of some 300,000 acres. It is a fact that the great wines of Bordeaux (to be fair this is only about 1% of those actually producing wines!) set the benchmark for which others aim to aspire - although they perhaps would not openly admit it in public, many a winemaker in the ‘new-world’ ultimately wishes to emulate the top chateaux of Bordeaux in style when crafting their own individual wines! For lovers of ‘First-Growths’ and the like, I would recommend that you perhaps purchase these wines from one of the respected fine-wine brokers based in London, who will happily cater to your needs and take large sums of money from you!
