Malt Whisky

Malt WhiskyWhisky (or Whiskey depending on which part of the world it hails from) is one of the world’s leading spirits and is produced in many countries, notably Canada, Scotland, Ireland and the United States. There are quite a few different styles of both malt and grain whiskies, which can lead to some confusion on the part of the customer. I have tried to give greater information on each individual style of whisky under its relevant heading, however for now here is the brief breakdown.
Both malt and grain whiskies are available as ‘single’ whiskies (the product of one distillery only). Most whisky however is sold as blended whisky (standard blends and Deluxe blends) which can be a mixture of any number of whiskies from different grain and malt distilleries.
Then there is a single malt whisky, vatted or blended malt whiskies, Irish Whiskey, American Whiskies, Bourbon, Rye and Tennessee Whiskey as well as Canadian Whisky.

Single Malt, Cask Strength, Vatted & Wood Finishes

A single-malt is probably the most highly prized of all Scotch whiskies. These are produced entirely from malted barley, double distilled and made exclusively at a single one of Scotland’s many working distilleries - they are often aged for a considerable period of time in cask before being released. Vatted malts are a blend of several single malts from a number of different malt whisky distilleries, generally within a specific geographical location, for example Speyside or Islay. Some distilleries also experiment by ageing their malt whisky in a variety of oak casks to impart different flavour characteristics into the malt whisky, cognac, port and bourbon are amongst those used.
We have put together a range of malt whiskies to encompass all styles, regions and ages, which I am sure will have something for everyone.
